Hand In Hand
The Hand in Hand Ministry was created to provide a safe, supportive, and enriching environment at Calvary Church for children with special needs and their families.
Our program is in operation at the 9am church service as well as during Discipleship Hour (10:15-11:15am). We have two models-one is our self-contained classroom while the other is a push-in model (the Hand in Hand volunteer accompanies the child to Kids Time or their classroom with typical peers and provides additional support in this environment). The current population being served is Pre-K to 5th grade, but we welcome children of all ages and stages. The schedule typically consists of free play, worship music, snack, and a short Bible story/video with a follow up activity.

We believe every child – regardless of ability – is an integral part of the body of Christ, and every family should have the opportunity to worship and learn about the Word of God.
We are encouraged by the parents who are able to attend church, knowing their child is safe, supported and cared for. Our goal is to build community among both students and parents.

Our team consists of highly qualified, trained and background checked volunteers who generously give their time and hearts to serve this population. Each volunteer brings knowledge and experience to support the unique needs of each child.

Children enjoy a variety of engaging and developmentally supportive activities, including:
Imaginative play toys
Games, books, puzzles and blocks
Sensory items for fine and gross motor play
Arts and crafts

A typical schedule includes free play, worship music, snack time, and a short Bible story or video with a follow-up activity.

We offer two ministry models:
